The "conservative" group, One Million Moms -- a project of the American Family Association -- is protesting J.C. Penney's decision to hire Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson. The anti-gay group wrote on its website, "Funny that J.C. Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families. More sales will be lost than gained unless they replace their spokesperson quickly and their brand transformation will be unsuccessful."
They are calling on the retailer to fire DeGeneres and "remain neutral in the culture war."
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination (GLAAD) responded with a Stand Up For Ellen campaign. Their spokesperson said, "A vast majority of Americans today support Ellen as well as their LGBT friends and family members. Selecting an out performer who has inspired and entertained millions, is not only a smart business practice, but a reflection of how LGBT Americans today are an integral and valued part of the fabric of our culture."

Rumor has it that Simon Cowell wants Beyonce to be a judge on X-Factor -- in fact he wants her so bad, he has allegedly offered her $500 million to do it. According to Mediatakeout.com, an insider said that Simon desperately wants to revive the show and thinks that adding the superstar would do it.
The insider said, "He wants a big name female star on the panel. Mariah Carey is good, but she's not that hot today. He wants Beyonce because that would immediately give him the bounce needed to beat American Idol."
The source said that Simon offered Bey $500 million or $100 million per year for five seasons. A source in Beyonce's camp would not reveal whether or not if Beyonce is interested, but told the site to expect for the superstar to announce a major career move in the next month.
According to E! News, this story is false. The site said that Simon may be trying to get Beyonce as a judge, but it is not likely that he would be willing to pay $500 million to get the superstar.

The source also revealed a gift that Jay-Z brought for their baby girl. The source said, "Jay Z bought Blue diamond earrings and a platinum baby bracelet . . . even her bottle has pink sapphires on it."
Gisele Bunchen doesn't seem to be very confident that her husband Tom Brady will lead the New England Patriots to victory on Sunday. The supermodel sent an email plea to family and close friends, asking them to "pray" for her husband to win the Super Bowl.
In the email, obtained by the New York Post, Bundchen wrote, "My sweet friends and family. This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband's life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl."
She continued, "So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this sunday. Thank you for your love and support. Love, G :)"

Divorce was not kind to Olivia Wilde's waistline. The actress admitted to Town and Country magazine that she gained weight following her split from Tao Ruspoli last year after eight years of marriage.
She told the publication, "I put on a few extra pounds. But I'm trying to be healthier now." Last year, Olivia hinted that weight gain might be an issue, saying, "I got a divorce and self-medicated with food. But I figure that's better than self-medicating with crack cocaine."
Olivia noted that there are some pros to getting divorced in your 20s. She explained, "The good thing about getting divorced young -- if there is a good thing -- is that it makes you realize there's no schedule in life. It blasts you wide open and frees you to be honest with yourself."
While she wouldn't directly address her widely-known relationship with SNL actor Jason Sudeikis, Olivia conceded that she's dating a man in the "entertainment world," and teased, "he's in a much more interesting part of the business than I am."
